For years, my life had quietly started shrinking.

As a single woman in my 60s, I found myself stuck in routines that felt safe… but small.

After more than 40 years as a portrait photographer, I felt creatively stagnant. Too many evenings ended the same way: watching Netflix, avoiding the brutal Texas heat, and wondering if this was what the rest of my life was supposed to look like.

Deep down, I wanted more - More adventure, creativity, connection...more life.

So instead of shrinking with age, I decided to expand.

I made a plan to spend the upcoming summer months in the mountain towns of Mexico, specifically Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, where the weather invited me outdoors instead of trapping me inside air conditioning for months at a time.

I'm absolutely convinced that when we truly commit to something, the Universe moves too...Enter pet sitting! I pretty much stumbled on the concept, online (of course.)

And I'm absolutely thrilled to share this little known way to see Mexico (or the world?!) while staying in other peoples' homes, living like a local, all in exchange for caretaking their homes and pets in their absence. What a deal!

I'm having an absolute blast living rent-free in this amazingly beautiful mountain town of San Miguel, and so can you! You don't have to have any experience at this; what you need is a warm & friendly profile, and a willingness to keep having adventures.
